This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The site is run by Jose I. Arias ("Big Joe"), PO Box 1806, Boquerón, Puerto Rico 00622-1806. Questions: jiarias@caribbeanfishingwithbigjoe.com.

Information we collect

Account and membership: if you make a free account (captains, shops, anglers), your email address, name and the listing details and photos you add yourself.
Catch photos and posts: photos and text you send to the Catch Wall or your charter page. Community photos must have EXIF/GPS location removed before publication, and exact catch locations stay private by default.
App features: the app uses the camera and foreground location only for features you choose. Raw payment card data is never stored by BigJoe; the site sells nothing and donations are optional.
Email list: if you sign up for the free Caribbean Fish Cheat Sheet, your email address and language.
Website analytics: general visit information described below.

How we use it

Only to run the free site and app: show your listing or photo, send the cheat sheet, fishing tips and recipes you asked for, answer your messages, and improve the site. We never sell or rent your information, and we never share it except with the services that run the site (our web host, email delivery and the platforms named below).

Email list

We keep your email address and language so we can send you the cheat sheet, fishing tips and new recipes. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or write to jiarias@caribbeanfishingwithbigjoe.com and we will remove you.

Website analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It uses cookies and collects general information like the pages you view, your device type and your approximate location (city or country). We do not see your name or email from it, and we never sell this data. You can block it with your browser's privacy settings or Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

YouTube, TikTok and Pinterest (our own accounts)

Our website uses the YouTube API Services, the TikTok Content Posting API and the Pinterest API only to run our own YouTube channel, TikTok account and Pinterest account: it posts our own fishing videos and Pins and reads and answers the comments people leave on our posts. When you comment on one of our posts, that platform shares your public name and your comment with us so we can reply. We do not collect anything else from these platforms, we never sell or share it, and we do not keep it longer than needed to answer (at most 30 days).

By commenting on or watching our YouTube videos you are also using YouTube, which is covered by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Pinterest is covered by the Pinterest Privacy Policy and TikTok by the TikTok Privacy Policy. The site owner can remove our website's access to these accounts at any time (for YouTube at Google security settings).

Children

The site is family friendly but is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Delete your account or data

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
